I did enlist the help of dad with this one....this solid oak coffee table had a very heavy varnish.  I could have used my hand held orbital sander, but it was a no-brainer to let dad put the top through his belt sander. I painted the frame and legs in Farrow& Ball Dead Salmon.  The drawer was given a new solid oak front and I fitted a funky new handle.
